Stellest Lenses: Myopia Management in a Pair of Glasses

When Your Child Keeps Needing Stronger Glasses

Watching your child’s prescription increase can leave you wondering what more you can do. At Liberty Eyecare, we offer Essilor Stellest lenses to help your child see clearly while slowing the progression of nearsightedness—all in a familiar glasses routine.

What Are Stellest Lenses?

Stellest lenses are specialized eyeglass lenses designed to correct nearsightedness and help slow childhood myopia progression. They combine a central area for clear vision with tiny surrounding lens elements that create an optical signal intended to slow excessive eye growth.

Unlike standard single-vision glasses that correct vision alone, Stellest lenses address both your child’s current prescription and how their myopia may progress over time. Results vary, and treatment cannot reverse existing myopia or guarantee that progression will stop.

Powered by Essilor® H.A.L.T. Technology

Essilor® Stellest® lenses are engineered with breakthrough H.A.L.T. (Highly Aspherical Lenslet Target) technology, specifically designed to control myopia progression in children without invasive procedures:

  • Two-in-One Lens Design: A single-vision optical zone provides crisp, sharp distance vision in any direction of gaze, while a surrounding constellation of 1,021 invisible aspheric lenslets creates an optical shield that slows excessive axial eye growth.
  • Clinically Proven Results: Clinical studies demonstrate that wearing Stellest lenses slows myopia progression by up to 67% and eye elongation by 60% compared to standard single-vision lenses when worn consistently.
  • Seamless & Fast Adaptation: Stellest lenses look just like standard eyeglass lenses. Up to 90% of children adapt comfortably to them within three days, and nearly 100% within one week.
  • Built for Active Kids: Crafted from impact-resistant polycarbonate material with premium anti-reflective and scratch-resistant coatings, offering durable daily protection and UV defense for young, active lifestyles.

What to Expect

Your child’s care begins with a myopia evaluation to assess their prescription, eye health, and treatment needs. Our licensed opticians will help select a frame that fits comfortably and positions the lenses correctly, with a wide selection of children’s eyewear to choose from.

Consistent wear is an important part of treatment. The manufacturer recommends wearing Stellest lenses for at least 10 hours per day, at least six days per week. Your doctor will explain the recommended routine and help your child adjust to their new lenses.

Regular follow-up visits allow us to monitor vision, eye health, frame fit, and myopia progression, making adjustments to your child’s care when needed.

Are Stellest Lenses Right for Your Child?

Stellest lenses are FDA authorized for children who begin treatment between ages 6 and 12 and meet specific prescription criteria. They may be a good option for families who prefer glasses or children who aren’t ready for contact lenses.

We consider your child’s prescription, eye health, daily activities, and ability to wear their glasses consistently before recommending a personalized plan.
